Background: Josephine Sungu was born into poverty in Korogocho Slums one of the largest slums on the
outskirts of Nairobi city. His parents migrated from a rural village in search of better opportunities but found
themselves trapped in a cycle of poverty and struggle. Ravi is the eldest of three siblings, with a younger sister
aged 7 and a baby brother just turning 2.
Living Conditions: Margaret’s family lives in a cramped one-room shanty made of corrugated metal and tarpaulin sheets. The slum is overcrowded, with narrow alleys filled with garbage and open drains. Basic amenities like clean water and sanitation are scarce, and electricity is often stolen through makeshift connections.
Education: Despite his circumstances, Margaret attends a non-government-run school located in the slum.
